Back in time

Yesterday room 6 went back 100 years in time. We had an amazing trip to Kiwi North we we were able to participate in the day to day life of our Great Great Grandparents. Most of us enjoyed the school house, cooking and old games.

We are writing FANTASTIC stories about or experience to share. Here is a sneek peak of some pictures

Holiday Time

Room 6 is looking forward to resting our brains. This term our brains have been doing a lot of work. We have played hard! and worked even harder in our reading, writing and topic.  We also have been outside exploring the new road works where we planted rengarenga lilies. We all hope everyone has a safe and wonderful break. We look forward to sharing our next lot of adventures with you all.

The GREAT Kumara Cook off!!

Today in room 6 we got to cook Kumara and make up  our own recipes. My group added cheese, boiled eggs, corn and onions. We called our new dish Kumara Delight. It tasted really yummy. I liked that we tried some different tastes and my group worked hard together.

You should try this recipe at home :
Kumara delight

1 cup of kumara
1/2 cup of cheese
2 chopped boiled eggs
Tomato sliced
1/2 cup of corn
1/2 chopped cooked onion.

Mix all together and enjoy!!!

We have lots more recipes to share.

Hello my name is Anichka and I play netball for Whau Valley White. We are a year 3 and 4 team. On Saturday I played GA against Whangarei Primary school. My team won 10 - 5. Mrs Crossley was our ref and our wonderful parents cheered us on. I love playing netball with my friends from the middle syndicate.

Planting Lettuces

On Thursday Room 6 planted lettuce seeds. We placed them under the trees with our Ringaringa lilies that we hope to plant later on in the roadworks on Kamo bypass.
First we named our pots and then we put the dirt/soil in. We all added our seeds and the watered them.
I liked helping my friends work together and planting seeds. Here are some photos of planting our seeds.

Why We like Autumn

This week we have had fun writing about why we like autumn.

Anichka likes autumn because " I get to have hot chocolate and PJ days in bed".

Tre'zahn I like autumn because "we get a heater in our room".

After we wrote a draft of why we like autumn we published and decorated our wall, with lots of orange, red and yellow leaves.
